About Me
Hi! I'm Misha, and I love the written word. My passion for reading and writing started back when I was in elementary school. I discovered romance novels as a teenager, and there was no turning back from becoming a voracious reader. My favorite thing to do is curl up with a good book.
I have a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington, and I am a member of ACES: The Society for Editing and the Editorial Freelancers Association. I started Verity Ink Editorial in 2019. It's a privilege partnering with authors to help them polish their words and get their manuscripts ready for publication.
My Core Values
-
Editing is a collaborative process where staying in touch is key. I will always keep you informed, and you are welcome to reach out to me at anytime.
-
I will be honest with you every step of the way. It’s important we both feel we are a good match. As a client, honest feedback helps lead to growth.
-
I strongly believe in kindness and encouragement when working with clients. Highlighting strengths and cheering you on are important to me.
-
I respect agreed-upon timelines and am consistent in delivering high-quality work on time (or even early!) and as described in the service agreement.
-
All my edits are visible, and I ask before I make any major changes. I will never impose my styling preferences without consulting you first.
My Philosophy
The author-editor relationship is a partnership.
Editing should never change an author’s voice.
Each manuscript is treated with respect.
Celebrating every success is important.
Teaching is an integral part of an editor’s job.
